Connect your AI assistant to Digital Silk Route

Test MCP connection

Pings the server and lists the tools your assistant will see.

ChatGPT

  1. 1Open ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors → Advanced and turn on Developer mode (read the risk notice).
  2. 2In the chat composer, click the + menu and enable Developer mode.
  3. 3Click Add sources, then Connect more.
  4. 4Give the connector a name (e.g. Digital Silk Route) and paste the MCP URL above.
  5. 5Start a chat and ask: "List the latest products on Digital Silk Route."

Claude

  1. 1Open Claude → Custom connectors.
  2. 2Give the connector a name (e.g. Digital Silk Route) and paste the MCP URL above.
  3. 3Enable the connector from the chat composer.
  4. 4Ask Claude: "Summarise the latest blog post from Digital Silk Route."

Cursor

  1. 1Open Cursor → Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP (or Tools & Integrations).
  2. 2Click + Add new global MCP server. Cursor opens ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
  3. 3Paste the snippet below and save. The exact URL is:

  4. 4Back in Cursor Settings → MCP, wait for the green dot next to digital-silk-route.
  5. 5In Composer / Agent mode, open the Available Tools list and enable each tool below.

Troubleshooting

401 / 403 Unauthorized

Our MCP server is public — no key required. If your client is sending an Authorization header, remove it. In ChatGPT/Claude, delete the connector and re-add it without credentials. In Cursor, remove any headersblock from mcp.json.

406 Not Acceptable

The client isn't sending both required accept types. Ensure the request header is exactly Accept: application/json, text/event-stream. Official MCP SDKs do this automatically — upgrade to the latest SDK/client.

CORS / blocked in the browser

The MCP server is meant for MCP clients (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor), not browser fetch from other domains. Use the Test MCP connection button above to verify from this page, or connect through your assistant.

Network error / timeout

Check your firewall or VPN. Test the URL from a terminal:

A healthy response starts with HTTP/2 200.

Rate limits

Assistants sometimes call tools in tight loops. If you see repeated failures, wait 30 seconds and retry. Prefer specific prompts ("list 5 products in category X") over open-ended scans.

Tools don't appear in the assistant

Fully reload the connector: disable it, delete it, then re-add it with the URL above. In Cursor, click the refresh icon next to the server name in Settings → MCP. The Test MCP connection button above confirms which tools we currently advertise.
